Tutorial : Comparing Two Sites
<< Back to main tutorial page
Can I get a more detailed comparison between two sites?
Yes. First you'll need to select a specific site from
the "Data" page. Once you're on a site page, you'll notice a "Compare against other sites/plots" link
directly above the species list (as circled below).
Once you've followed that link, you'll find a page with two columns. Select the sites you'd like to compare with the drop-down menus at the top of the page (it's possible to specify plots and years as well), then hit the "compare" button (shown below). This will give you a line-by-line comparison of the species and their coverage values for each plot/site/year combination. At the bottom of the list, you'll find species counts, FQI, and alpha- and beta-diversity measures, including the Jaccard coefficient of similarity (a value near 1.0 means that the sites are very similar, while a value near 0.0 means that the sites are quite different).
