Ivanhoe Dune and Swale Nature Preserve is owned by The Nature Conservancy and is a state-dedicated nature preserve. It is a remnant of a globally unique natural community known as "dune and swale." A series of linear sandy old beach ridges alternate with long narrow wetlands in parallel bands to form this rare community. It is a 120 acre nature preserve with a rich patchwork of upland savanna, prairie, forest, and wetland habitats.
